10 Things I Learned About Vegas in 2,5 Days

Even though I spent only 2,5 days in Vegas I had plenty of time to notice a couple of things. There probably is more, but here are my "rookie" observations.

1. Everything is expensive. I bought an orange juice that cost me $6. So, in short: do not go to Vegas if you're not prepared to spend money. Somehow the city lures you into doing that.

2. They will ask you for your ID anywhere and anytime you use your card to pay even the smallest of sums. So keep that with you at all times!

3. You pretty much have to pay for Wi-Fi at the hotels too; even after paying resort fees, taxes and some other "hidden costs". Nothing is for free..

4. There's always a party going on and you can see drunk people any time of the day.

5. The Strip looks like any other big city with high buildings during the day, but at night it almost seems magical with all the lights.

6. That said 2,5-3 days is enough before you get caught up in the madness.

7. You will meet the most random and most amazing people if you're up for it.

8. More people than I thought travel to Vegas alone just for fun.

9. The casinos/hotels are bigger than malls and have everything you can imagine inside them. You don't even need to leave your hotel if you don't feel like it.

10. "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" was not coined in vain. Some stories might be better left untold when getting back to the real world. But then again, why not share the fun and crazy stories with your friends?

Oh and as a tip! If you want to go on a show, which usually are pretty expensive, buy your ticket for about half the price from Tix4Tonight. You can find their stands in a couple of places on the strip and also in the Showcase Mall (plus online).

BUCKET LIST: 105 Things I want to do

Since studying doesn't sound that fun in my ears right now, I thought I could make up a bucket list. I want to have clear goals in life since it's much easier to actually achieve something and also if they're written down it's easier to keep track of them. Some of these things I have done already, but will just crux them off, since parts of this bucket list is taken from a past one I made for myself (not published). They are in no order what so ever by the way.

Note to self: when you during the night have to read for the two exams tomorrow, blame your past self.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 30

DAY 30: Your favorite song at this time last year

Så mitt sista 30 Day Music Challenge inlägg:

Min absolut favoritlåt hela förra sommaren var utan tvekan Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home. Älskade den då, älskar den nu.

EN: And then it was time to end this challenge! It was fun, even though a bit time consuming. So my last entry for the 30 Day Music Challenge:

My absolute favorite song last summer was without doubt Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home. I loved it then, I love it now.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 29

DAY 29: A song from your childhood

EN: This one was relatively easy! I remember lots of artists that have played on repeat in our house when I was a child, among others for example Guns N' Roses (but because I've already abused this band in this challenge I chose another one), Black Sabbath, U2, Alanis Morisette and Sinéad O'Connor. I chose Sinéad O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U (Prince cover, 1990) because it is so beautiful.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 28

DAY 28: A song that makes you feel guilty

EN: Hard to come up with a song that makesd me feel guilty. The closest I can come is Matisyahu ft. Akon - One Day, because the world will never be free from war and cruelty, everyone is not going to be ever accepted in our society and hate in all kinds of forms will always exist. The song is beautiful and I like its positive message, but it makes me feel ashamed of the "modern human" and the world we live in today.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 27

DAY 27: A song that you wish you could play

EN: Considering I can't play any song on any kind of instrument, I have lots of songs I wish I could play. This one was between Coldplay - Fix You and Guns N' Roses - November Rain, but I uploaded the latter one since Slash's guitar solo is just simply amazing. Ranked as one of the best guitar solos and the best guitar player of all time he deserves this one.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 26

DAY 26: A song that you can play with an instrument

Hmm. :D

EN: Well. This is awkward. I can't play any instruments, not even one. I wish I could play piano, guitar or saxophone, but no. The closest I've ever gotten to play an instrument is guitar on Guitar Hero, hehe. Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out was a song I liked to play, because it was fairly easy, with little changes between the buttons in a slower tempo. I wish I could have played Muse - Knights of Cydonia though...

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 25

DAY 25: A song that makes you laugh

EN: There isn't that many songs that you could really laugh to, but The Lonely Island ft. Michael Bolton - Jack Sparrow is a funny song (at least the last parts).

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 24

DAY 24: A song that you want to play at your funeral

EN: This one I haven't thought of that much, but I definitely don't want a boring "death song" playing at my funeral, but something that have made me happy and something that reflects myself a bit. Counting Crows - Holiday In Spain is a song I've always been happy to listen to and it has been a favorite for years. For me the song is about flying away somewhere new, trying your own wings out, discover love and sorrow, leave old stuff behind you, about restlessness and so on. The meaning of the song is probably something else for the artist, but I guess you can interpret it however you like.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 23

DAY 23: A song that you want to play at your wedding

EN: I have known for years already what I want to play at my wedding if that day ever comes and it's the amazingly beautiful Etta James - At Last.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 22

DAY 22: A song you listen to when you're sad

EN: The last times I've been really sad I've listened to Snow Patrol - New York for some reason. It is a good song anyways from a great band!

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 21

DAY 21: A song you listen to when you're happy

Of Leon - Sex On Fire.

EN: I do not have a happy song either. Most of the time it's something that is on my playlist that I get a good feeling about. But I can say that for some reason I get a good feeling when listening to Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 20

DAY 20: A song that you listen to when you're angry

EN: I'm like never angry, but I remember this one time when I was and I listen to music and when Peter, Bjorn & John - Young Folks came on I instantly felt a little better.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 19

DAY 19: A song from your favorite album

Favoritalbum?

There's lots of them, but Guns N' Roses debut album Appetite for Destruction that came out in 1987 is my favorite. There's lots of good songs on it and without this album the band wouldn't have become one of the greatest rock bands ever. Listed as one of the best albums in the world (62/500, Rolling Stone Music) and that it is the biggest-selling debutalbum of all time says a lot. Here's one of the songs from the album, Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 18

DAY 18: A song that you wish you heard on the radio

EN: Well, everything plays on the radio at some point maybe, but I don't think I've ever heard Bloc Party - Sunday on the radio.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 17

DAY 17: A song that you hear often on the radio

EN: I don't actually listen to radio that much anymore, but all the times I have during the past months I've always heard Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Can't hold us. I like the song and I saw them live on Sunday at Ruisrock. He's a real sympathetic guy, Macklemore, and as good live as on radio. I do love them more now after seen them.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 16

DAY 16: A song that you used to love but now hate

EN: This one was even harder to come up with than any of the others. I can't say I have a song that I've really loved but now hate, but I think James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover is the closest I can come. I listened to it a lot at a sadder point in my life, so I can't anything else than have a love-hate relationship with it. Still as beautiful and emotional as before, but not a song I listen to at a regular basis.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 15

DAY 15: A song that describes you

En låt som beskriver mig. Jag vet inte. Fun ft. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young är en som kunde vara lite beskrivande kanske.

EN: A song that describes me. I don't know. Fun ft. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young could be one that descibers a bit.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 14

DAY 14: A song that no one would expect you to love

EN: This one was pretty hard too since I don't know how to surprise you with a song I like, because I think my taste in music is pretty mainstream: a mix of rock, pop, indie, trance, dance, Swedish music and so on. The general.  But then I got it! You never could have guessed that I like Marilyn Manson to some extent? I may not be the biggest fan and I don't listen to him daily, not even monthly, but sometimes it's a nice break from all the other music I listen to. So here one of my favorites: Marilyn Manson - Heart Shaped Glasses.

30 DAY MUSIC CHALLENGE - DAY 13

DAY 13: A song that is a guilty pleasure

EN: I couldn't think of any other song than Nine Inch Nails - Closer that could be a guilty pleasure. The song isn't precisely the one you put on at a party and sing to, besides me then. My closest friends know this is my "strip song" (loooong story behind this inside thing) and I like the song for some reason. It is really dirty, but I'll give you that one!
