HUMANS OF NEW YORK

And by the way. I'm way too addicted to Humans Of New York. It's my favorite thing on Instagram at the moment. I would actually want to do something like this. A random thing. Meet random people on the streets. Ask them questions. Learn new thing. Get perspective on life. Laugh a little. Cry a little.

Style Steal: Blair Waldorf

Inspon.

EN: So this is what my Blair Waldorf style steal outfit looked like for the USA-themed party, that by the way was really successful! On me I had a light yellow lace dress from Club L, a red belt with navy blue detail from Forever21, a red blazer from Pull & Bear, a black headbland from Glitter maybe, brown wedge heels from ZARA (couldn't bother to walk in pumps), a red handbag bought from somewhere on Mallorca in 2009, Majorica pearls (one of them) and a bracelet I got as a gift from India. All this I found in my wardrobe which was just perfect! I kept the make-up light and clean and curled my hair in layers so it would have a more smooth finish than normally when I curl my hair into a mess of curls. You like? (I realized that I've just bought the headband and the dress from Finland, so apparently I do shop some abroad...). The inspo.

I'm seriously thinking about walking around this girly and preppy all the time. I quite frankly liked the outfit I put together, even though I at first thought it was a bit crazy and very very colorful.

Loving the Style: Blair Waldorf

EN: I'm going to a student party today with USA as the theme that Hangö Gillet (a student organization) is hosting. Me and a couple of my friends from work discussed lots of different outfits during the slow hours at work and we discussed everything from amish, teen mom, cow girl to cheerleader etc. Then I suddenly realized I could dress up as a character from a movie or a TV-show. As you may know I love Gossip Girl, especially the main characters styles and I adore Blair Waldorf. So now I've rumbled around the internet to find some pictures to get inspired by and an outfit has started to form in my head, so all I need to do now is to go through my wardrobe.

Headbands of any kind are one of the items that defines Blair's preppy signature look.

Blair does love color; yellow, orange, green and red mostly, and patterns like floral and fruits.

Blair does exclusively wear preppy dresses and skirt of varied lenghts, but normally just above knee-lenght or longer. She does match them up with tights of different colors and textures during the colder months and is bare-legged during the warmer ones. Jeans and trousers are not her thing. With skirts she wears rouffled, satin and mostly collared shirts and tops.

These two are two of my all time favorite outfits Blair have worn, especially the second one. She does love her coats and capes of different colors!

Blair's makeup is always very clean made with a good base, neutral or red lips, none or a little eye-liner and rosy cheeks. Sometimes darker neutral colored eyeshadow with evening wear. Her darkbrown hair is almost always worn down, with a hairband, but occasionally in a pony tail or in an romantic evening up-do. Her hair is always voluminous, wavy or curly with a smooth finish.

She also does wear cute flats or mostly heels, romantic jewellery like pearls and diamonds and a colorful handbag. Ribbons, bows and lace is something she does wear lots and sometimes fancy gloves.

Loving the Style: FTBH

I've told about the FATED TO BE HATED blog before, but her style is so amazing so it's worth mentioning again. I get so inspired and think her style is like a piece of art. There's not that many fashion bloggers who's style I get very excited about, but this is one. Here is by the way a blog post she wrote about love. So beautiful!

Simply beautiful isn't it?

Nerd Glasses

EN: Hello all! Here's my today's outfit (I really have a flow going on with outfits now). The shirt's from Forever21 that I bought in Paris and the jeggings are a year old from H&M. And the nerd glasses are from Firmoo.com. It felt really weird having them on since I'm not used to it at all, though I actually chickened out from having them on for the rest of the day so they ended up being just an accessory for these pictures. I guess it takes a little bit of courage and time to get used to the look. I'm not hundred percent sure this is my thing, but time will tell. They definitely form your face and give the outfit an instant lift. What do you think? Nerd glasses have been a bigger trend for quite a while now and I've been so jealous of people who look very good and even sexy in them so I'm happy having a pair of my own now.

So I got these non-prescription glasses from Firmoo.com which is an internet store that sells both prescription and non-prescription glasses, sunglasses and goggle frames for both women and men with various styles and colours. Mostly I was surprised by their affordable prices in considering these are of much better quality than most that you can buy in any fashion store for almost the same price. I experienced that they are stable and will not fall in parts after a couple of uses comparing to e.g. those cheap sunglasses I usually buy for the summer season. Also the shipping was very fast which I think is one of the most important things when buying things online, nothing more irritating than having to wait for your order for weeks. So if you're interested in buying e.g. nerd glasses or have thought about it definitely check out Firmoo! They have a "first pair free program" where you get the first pair you buy for free and you can use the link above to get to the program. Then if you don't like them it's just to refund them or change for another pair 'til you find the ones made for you. Very nice I think and a creative way of getting new customers!

They do change the look and the face don't they?

Leighton Meester, Lauren Conrad, Michelle Tratchenberg, Megan Fox, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Zooey Deschanel, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Alexa Chung and many many more of our favourite fashionistas and celebs look gorgeous in nerd glasses don't you think? When we were younger it was nerdy in a bad way to have glasses, but I'm so happy it's "cool" now and that there are so many different shapes, labels and colours of them. Much more to choose from than before I think. Well for me I still don't know if it's a hit or not, but I just have to let time tell :)

Strawberry Blonde or Ombre Light?

I have an appointment at the hair dresser tomorrow and can't decide which one of these looks to go for. I've thought about them both for like a half a year already and I still can't decide!!

Strawberry Blonde à la Rosie Huntington-Whitley...

... or Ombre Light à la these fancy girls?
