BUCKET LIST: 105 Things I want to do

Since studying doesn't sound that fun in my ears right now, I thought I could make up a bucket list. I want to have clear goals in life since it's much easier to actually achieve something and also if they're written down it's easier to keep track of them. Some of these things I have done already, but will just crux them off, since parts of this bucket list is taken from a past one I made for myself (not published). They are in no order what so ever by the way.

Note to self: when you during the night have to read for the two exams tomorrow, blame your past self.

My bucket list; 105 things I want to do before I die:

1. Visit all the continents; Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Asia and Africa (excluding Antarctica, even though that would be cool) 4/6
2. Road trip in North-America (I guess my trip on Christmas break has to count, even though it's not really a road trip per say)
3. Travel around Europe in the summertime
4. Travel in Italy for a month all the way from Milan to Sicily
5. Own my own apartment/house
6. Get a dog
7. Find a soulmate, a person that I can trust 100% and that will be there for me no matter what
8. Work and travel in Australia & New Zealand
9. Bungyjump in Queenstown, New Zealand
10. Skydive

11. Travel around in South East Asia
12. Travel on the West Coast of the states. December 2013
13. Travel on the East Coast of the states
14. Walk on the strip in Las Vegas
15. Visit Grand Canyon
16. Hike in Yosemite National Park, California
17. Work abroad. Once so far; in Disneyland Paris in 2010.
18. Move abroad. Partially I've done this already, but now I mean really move.
19. Get wed on a beach or a nice garden

21. Visit Paris. First time in 2006, then moved there in 2010 and visited in 2011 & 2012 a couple of times.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS

Om fyra dagar så börjar en resa. En ungefär fem veckor lång resa. Jag kan inte vänta på att få se alla dessa nya ställen och jämföra dem med ställen jag redan besökt. Kan inte vänta på att få äta riktig mat igen (jämfört med skolkafeterians), gå på en strand, doppa mina fötter i Stilla och Karibiska Havet, få en inre frid, uppleva att resa med en person jag inte känner så bra och mest av allt: att få prova mina egna vingar och resa totalt ensam i hela 18 dagar. Vet inte vad som kommer att hända, vad jag kommer få uppleva eller hurudana människor jag träffar, men det är ju det som är hela grejen.

Jag kommer fira min första julafton borta hemifrån med kompisar och andra i San Francisco, och jag är nog lite ledsen på grund av det. Denna dag har de senaste åren varit enda dagen på hela året då jag och mina syskon är samtidigt hemma hos mamma. Dessutom saknar jag våra hundar något otroligt, har verkligen märkt att jag är en riktig dog lover sen jag kom hit. Det är den där vänskapen, närheten och stödet som är svår att få någon annanstans ifrån som gör vänskapen mellan en människa och en hund så magisk. Dessutom fick jag dåliga nyheter hemifrån igår som har fått mig på ett minst sagt nedsatt humör. Typiskt just när man är på andra sidan Atlanten. Mera om det senare… Istället för att resa till alla dessa ställen skulle jag ha lust att åka hem en vecka eller så, men allt är bokat och planerat och har inte ekonomiskt råd att förlora så mycket pengar. Låter så dumt. Och egoistiskt. Och jag blir ledsen.

Istället försöker jag fokusera på saker som får mig ens att le lite för tillfället:

Fick min egen kopia av Humans of New York boken på posten igår, men hämtade ut den idag. Kan inte vänta på att få läsa allas historier! Böcker i allmänhet är en bra flykt från vardagen.

Vårt kampus förvandlades till ett winter wonderland under en natt och en dag. Kan inte något annat än vara lite glad (även om jag inte gillar snö och vinter) för vårt kampus är inte lika grått och tråkigt längre.

I bought a new cute skirt a couple of days ago. The perfect birthday gift for myself. Now the weather is changing though, the last couple of weeks we've had nearly 30 degrees Celcius every day, and now it's something under 20 degrees. Cold if you ask me. I will still try to wear skirts and shorts with bare legs as long as I can. It's in the middle of the night here, I still have some reading to do, but I think reading inspirational quotes and listening to Coeur de Pirate (French-Canadian singer) and Band Of Horses is much more fun. I'm trying to come up with a good blog topic for a blog and an online-portfolio we're doing in one of the courses I'm in. Can't think of anything at the moment. I bought a domain already though. I miss Paris and all the craziness we came up with every day after work. But of course it was summer then, and summers are always a tad crazier. Here we mostly just chill and hang out. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but sometimes I get bored. I could have gone out today, but all the homework and reading is killing me. I have some good study buddies though, that make me concentrate more on school for some reason. We are so unlikely to be the ones sitting and studying together that I laugh at the thought every time. Hopefully this weekend will be fun. I need that.

Jag hittade på misstag en ganska awesome "dejting" blogg som en 28 årig amerikansk kille skriver. Den är härligt analytisk, riktad till kvinnor och doesn't spare anyone's feelings så att säga. Han ger inte uttjatade tips som inte hjälper som många tjejtidningar, t.ex. Cosmopolitan (worst of them all) ger och han strör inte socker över verkligheten. Vissa saker kan man ju ta med en nypa salt, men det mesta är ganska intressant och roligt att läsa. Så om ni är intresserade av hur killar (iaf denna) tänker om oss kvinnor, killarnas tankesätt överlag, om dejting, förhållanden m.m. läs The Rules Revisited!

EN: I accidentally found this pretty awesome "dating" blog that a 28 year old American guy writes. It is wonderfully analytic, targeted at women and doesn't spare anyone's feelings so to say. He doesn't give the same old advice that most women's magazines, as Cosmopolitan (the worst of them all) gives and he doesn't sugarcoat the reality. Some stuff you should probably not take that serious, but the most is an interesting and enjoyable read. So if you're interested in how men (at least this one) thinks about us women, guys ways of thinking over all, about dating, relationships and so on read The Rules Revisited!

Samsara

Om ni vill se någonting visuellt vackert en dag då ni behöver tystnad och ro, kolla filmen/dokumentären Samsara (2011) gjord av regissören Ron Fricke. Den är filmad under fem år i 25 olika länder bl.a. Frankrike, Förenade Arab-Emiraterna, USA och Thailand och på fem kontinenter. Man får se något av de vackraste saker i världen, olika kulturer, religion, vyer, heliga tempel, traditioner, katastrofområden, industriella och moderna områden, människans materialism, ja typ allt möjligt. Filmens "budskap" förs igenom med musik och inget prat. Den lugnaste och en av de finaste filmatiseringar jag någonsin sett, även om vissa delar av filmen var hemska t.ex. då de visade en glimt in i köttindustrin och porträtterade människan som en materialistisk varelse (som ju de flesta av oss är till en viss grad). Man får ju tolka delar av filmen som man vill och den väckte verkligen tankar. Jag kollade inte den i ett streck, men lite då och då under två dagars tid, då jag tyckte att se på en film utan prat i 1h 45min kanske skulle ha blivit lite overload att titta i ett streck. Samsara syftar förresten på den fiktiva materiella dimensionen i den för-hinduistiska filosofin som delar in världen i ovannämnda dimension och i den verkliga andliga dimensionen. Ordet kommer från sanskrit och betyder "att flyta ihop", vandra eller passera olika stadier och syftar i flera religioner på den cirkulerande livcykeln; att födas, leva, dö och återfödas. Dokumentären följer verkligen detta tema och porträtterar livet som något vackert.

EN: If someone wants to see something visually beautiful a day one needs peace and quiet, watch the movie/documentary Samsara (2011) realised by director Ron Fricke. It's filmed during five years in 25 countries e.g. France, United Arab Emirates, USA and Thailand and on five continents. One gets to see some of the most beautiful things in the world, different cultures, religions, views, holy grounds, traditions, catastrophe zones, the industrial and modern world, the human materialism, well a little bit of this and that. The movie's "message" is brought forward with music and no talk. It's one of the calmest and most beautiful adaptions I've ever seen, even though some parts of the movie were kind of horrible, like a glimpse of the meat industry and that it portrayed the human as a materialistic creature (even though the most of us are up to a point). One can interpret the movie's parts any way one likes and it really got me thinking about some stuff. I didn't watch all at once since it's 1h 45mins long, so I thought that was kind of an overload for a movie without talk to watch at once. Samsara means by the way the fictional materialistic dimension in the pre-hinduistic philosophy which divides the world into two dimensions; the one mentioned above and the real spiritual dimension. The word comes from sanscrit and means "to float together", wander or pass different stages and in many religions it means the repeating life cycle; birth, life, death and re-birth. The documentary really follows this theme and portrays life as something beautiful.
